Danroy Henry
Danroy "DJ" Henry was shot and killed by police on October 17th, 2010, by officer Aaron Hess.
A fight had occured in a bar where DJ was with his friends, celebrating the team's homecoming, but he had no involvement with it.
The police was called and the bar was cleared. DJ had parked in a fire lane, so they told him to move his car. DJ did exacly what the officers had asked, but Hess decided to jump in front of his car and shoot him multiple rounds through his windshield.
Danroy was hit 3 times and still handcuffed after, and he did not get the medical assistance he obviously needed.
He had a CPR certified friend who asked to try to ressuscitate him, which the officers refused without explication.
The media and police took the officer's side of the story and siad that DJ was trying to run over multiple officers, even if video coverage and eyewitnesses' statements show that this was not the case and DJ was innocent.
That year, Hess was named officer of the year and is still not charged for the murder of Danroy.
Seven years after his death, his family was given an apology and received a 6 million dollar settlement, that they used to start the DJ Henry Dream Fund, which is used to give out scholarships to children in the Massachussets, but the case isn't reopened, and his family deserve justice.
